OCHEC functions as a network in the Province of Ontario that seeks to link together individual home schooling families, home education support groups and private schools whose members are home educators. They host a large, weekend long, homeschooling conference annually complete with speakers, workshops, and vendor hall. KCHEC is a chapter group of OCHEC.
Membership with HSLDA provides peace of mind to homeschooling parents in the event that they require legal council in relation to their choice to homeschool. Other benefits of membership include insurance, assistance with college/university application process, special needs resources, and help obtaining student ID cards.
RVHEA is the local OCHEC chapter group of the Ottawa area. There are many helpful homeschooling resources and articles on their website. They also host an annual, one day homeschooling conference.
This website has resources, curriculum reviews, and printables relevant to homeschooling in Canada. Of particular interest are the Ontario Curriculum Checklists that have been compiled using the Government of Ontario’s curriculum.
