Ontario Christian Home Educators Connection
OCHEC functions as a network in the Province of Ontario that seeks to link together individual homeschooling families, home education support groups and private schools whose members are home educators. They host a large, weekend-long, homeschooling conference annually, with speakers, workshops, and a vendor hall. KCHEC is a chapter group of OCHEC.
Home School Legal Defence Association (Canada)
Membership with HSLDA provides peace of mind to homeschooling parents in the event that they require legal counsel in relation to their choice to homeschool. Other benefits of membership include insurance, assistance with college/university application process, special needs resources, and help obtaining student ID cards. *NEW* HSLDA membership now includes access to their new digital library!
Rideau Valley Home Educators Association
RVHEA is the local OCHEC chapter group of the Ottawa area. There are many helpful homeschooling resources and articles on their website. They also host an annual, one-day homeschooling conference.
This website has resources, curriculum reviews, and printables relevant to homeschooling in Canada. Of particular interest are the Ontario Curriculum Checklists that have been compiled using the Government of Ontario’s curriculum.
The Ontario Federation of Teaching Parents
The OFTP has information regarding homeschooling in Ontario including getting started with homeschooling, the legalities of homeschooling in Ontario, resources, and post-secondary education for homeschoolers.
Classical Conversations Canada
Classical Conversations Canada has been supporting homeschoolers for over 25 years with Classical, Christian Homeschool Communities. They are currently trying to establish a new CC community in the Kingston area, so get in touch with their local rep!
